FNIC has an exciting opportunity available to lead our Employee Benefits Sales team as the Director of Sales, Employee Benefits. As the cornerstone for our company's Employee Benefit growth strategy, this role requires a dynamic leader with extensive Employee Benefits knowledge and ability to drive sales growth. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our sales efforts within the employee benefits sector, and fostering strong relationships with carrier partners, vendors, and key clients to uphold our reputation and expand our market presence. 

This role will lead a team based in Omaha, NE, our headquarters, and must be willing to relocate to Omaha or the surrounding area. This role is eligible for relocation assistance.

What’s the work like?

You will...

  • Sales Management: Lead and oversee the Employee Benefits sales function for the Omaha office. Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and growth objectives.
  • Team Development: Identify, recruit, onboard, and mentor sales talent. Provide ongoing coaching, training, and support to ensure the team's success and professional development.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze sales performance metrics, including individual and team KPIs, to assess progress towards goals and identify areas for improvement. Take proactive measures to address performance gaps.
  • Client Relationship Management: Collaborate with operations/service team and leaders to ensure seamless delivery of services and exceptional customer experiences. Address client concerns and inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and market developments. Utilize insights to refine sales strategies, identify opportunities, and mitigate potential threats.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the agency with carrier partners, vendors, and key clients/prospects, building and nurturing strong relationships to enhance business partnerships and facilitate collaboration.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives to drive sales growth and enhance market presence. Provide input on budgeting, resource allocation, and goal-setting processes.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all sales activities. Mitigate risks related to compliance issues and maintain a high standard of ethical conduct.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular reports, presentations, and updates for senior management on sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives. Maintain accurate records of sales activities and outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities to optimize sales processes, workflows, and systems. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

What do I need to know?

You have to have…

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field
  • Resident Life & Health insurance agent license
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of Employee Benefits experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience, sales leadership preferred
  • Strong understanding of Employee Benefit products, services, and industry regulations, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in recruiting, developing, and managing a high-performing team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and trust with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and colleagues.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, capable of translating data insights into actionable strategies and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Results-oriented approach with a focus on driving sales growth, maximizing profitability, and delivering superior customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly
  • Ability to conform with and abide by all workplace policies, work procedures, and instructions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree
  • Solid knowledge of agency operations, sales program implementation, and training concepts
  • Good understanding of business concepts including goal setting and sales and marketing techniques
