***$2,500 Sign On Bonus payable after 90 days of continuous employment***

Position Summary

The CNC Operator I plans and performs a variety of manufacturing operations utilizing computer numerical control machines to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications.

Job Duties

  • Interprets basic drawings for tolerances, instructions, and process sheets to execute work to be done right the first time.
  • Performs a variety of manufacturing operations using milling, drilling, boring, and turning on CNC machining centers or related operations including manual cleaning using hand tools.
  • Executes and reviews standard operating procedures, work instruction sheet and specifications to determine optimized machining sequence, tooling requirements/changes and measurement of finished work piece.
  • Makes necessary cutting tool offsets and adjustments as required to ensure quality is maintained in a day to day operation.
  • Performs a variety of inspection and gauging operations to ensure all quality standards and specifications. (metric and inch) are met according to process sheets.
  • Performs necessary maintenance of equipment.
  • Implements and sustains continuous improvements in quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

Experience Requirements

One year of CNC experience and/or training in a metal cutting or manufacturing operation is required. A CNC certificate from an accredited program will be accepted in lieu of the experience requirement.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to understand work instructions. Ability to prepare simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Basic math ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units (inch/metric) of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
  • Ability to use and interpret basic quality tools to chart and monitor measurement data as required and read prints.
  • Practical understanding of workplace cleanliness, organizational skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

Licenses/Certifications

CNC Machining certificate desired.

Working Conditions

Typical manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noises, toxic chemicals, and dangerous machinery when on the plant floor. Must be able to frequently lift 25 pounds unassisted.
