We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing/packing/shipping the customer’s order, by recording shipping orders on the computer system, labeling items, and packing orders into containers for shipping.

About the position:

• 2nd shift hours (11am - 7:30pm; hours may change)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages ensure that packaging specification are met, including date codes and lot number are applied.
• Communicate with supervisor or lead regarding any finished good quality issues or concerns that arise on the line.
• Assemble carboard container according to specifications.
• Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory.
• Place final order in delivery area for pickup.
• Receive distributors and document visit.
• Communicate any packaging issue with Bindery department.
• Communicate with customer with freight quotes for approved shipping method following all state and federal guidelines required for domestic and international shipments.
• Communicate with carriers to arrange shipment pickups as needed.
• Prepare weights for all boxes for each shipment.
• Prepare commercial invoices as needed for international shipments if not provided by customer.

Skills & Experience

• Previous related experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of FedEx Manager, UPS Worldship, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Impress and Adobe Acrobat.
• Be able to visually inspect equipment and verify information often in small print.
• Be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stopping.
• Have the physical ability to move, lift, load and place items weighing up to 50 pounds at a time.
