Position Summary

As FlyWire continues to expand, we are excited to add to our team a Production Technician, who will support all daily activities related to the fabrication, operation, maintenance, and documentation of production processes, as well as the installation of product in field conditions. The technician will support all production projects, maintain accurate records, value consistency with following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and provide insightful perspectives into production process improvements. Technicians will also be responsible for the preparation of materials, equipment setup and maintenance, product fabrication testing and evaluation for proper operation, and ensuring all systems are built to a high standard of quality. This production of products will include, but is not limited to, electronics assembly, soldering, large/small equipment fabrication, and work with cables and connectors. Technicians will manage all aspects of the fabrication/production cycle, including but not limited to administrative and support functions and inventory control.

Position Specific Responsibilities

The primary functions and responsibilities are:

  • Solid knowledge of fabrication methods and techniques
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude to read, understand, and improve SOPs
  • Capable of using a computer to input and maintain accurate records and data, utilize email, and online training resources
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency working with wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that full service is complete and satisfies customer and contractual requirements
  • Display a basic understanding of customer relationships and concepts of customer satisfaction, with an aptitude for growing that skill
  • Must be able to analyze information using basic skills in math
  • Capable of maintaining, troubleshooting, and replacing basic equipment issues
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn how to use hand and power tools in a safe and cautious manner
  • Competence in performing soldering and electronics assembly skills
  • Experience working with low voltage systems preferred, but not required
  • Maintains company propriety and documentation in accordance with established policies; handles proprietary information in the prescribed manner; adheres to and supports FlyWire policies and procedures including all safety requirements
  • Ability to work both in group settings and individually

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a Manufacturing/Technical position OR
  • Continued and documented technical education beyond High School (Mechanical, Shop, Electrical, etc) OR
  • Completed and documented four (4) year College degree

Pay Range

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of standing, bending, twisting, sitting, and moving for extended periods of time during the fabrication/production process
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques
