Flynn Group is Hiring a Licensing Specialist Near Independence, OH

Position Description

The primary responsibility of the Licensing Specialist is to ensure all restaurant operation permits are current with proper agency documentation, and licensure including securing new licenses, renewal existing licenses and resolving license issues. Provide day to day maintenance and monitoring of the restaurant property licenses.

Responsible for preparing and filing all initial tax and business registrations with the appropriate state and local government agency for acquisitions and new units, including all state and local sales taxes (which includes meals, hospitality, tourism and other miscellaneous taxes).

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with multiple years of legal, licensing and regulatory compliance experience is required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to research, collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions will be required.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and other software programs
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and facilitation skills
  • Working knowledge of various online sourcing tools
  • Proactive and results oriented.
  • Licensing Specialist should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A high level of detail orientation and a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities that arise in the day to day licensing and legal documentation of restaurant operations.

Job Duties & Functions

  • Prepares and process multi jurisdiction business and other licenses that are required for the restaurants, including gathering required information (i.e., floor plans, corporate documents, and other related information.)
  • Monitor the status of the applications and ensure all are received and properly posted as required.
  • Conduct necessary research and/or analysis to ensure appropriate documents are prepared accurately.
  • Complete check requests.
  • Candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a high level of detail orientation and a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities that arise in the day to day licensing and legal documentation of restaurant business operations.
  • Respond too internal and external inquiries regarding licenses and permits.
  • Must have the desire to continually learn best business practices and procedures, and the ability to learn systems quickly.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
