The Position
Specialist - EHS
Job Summary
Based at our manufacturing plant in Andersonville, GA, Imerys is hiring an EHS Specialist to support all aspects of the EHS regulatory compliance function for the site.
The position supports development, implementation and administration of EHS compliance programs, regulatory analysis, compliance with permits / licenses, audits, industrial hygiene workplace sampling, and other aspects of EHS management.
There is a strong element of interaction with hourly and supervisory employees in a training and coaching capacity.
Location : Andersonville, GA Monday thru Friday
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Administer a wide range of EHS compliance and training programs.
2. Manage MSHA training program to maintain compliance.
3. Conduct incident investigations and assist supervisors with injuries.
4. Assist hourly employees and supervisors with Bottom up Reporting of Unsafe Acts and Conditions
5. Support Behavioural Safety programs and enable positive participation from hourly employees 6. Manage incident reporting within Enablon Software
7. Coordinate testing of workplace air quality, noise and temperature to verify compliance with health and safety regulations.
8. Conduct EHS audits / inspections and support corrective actions.
9. Coordinate / participate in all MSHA compliance inspections.
10. Coordinate / participate in Georgia EPD (environmental) compliance inspections. 11. Chair Safety Committee.
12. Maintain systems to verify all AEDs, fire systems / fire extinguishers, and eye wash stations. 13. Other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
Minimum Education 2 year college degree in EHS or related field OR a High School diploma with at least 4 years of on-the-job EHS compliance and regulatory interpretation experience coupled with relevant professional continuing educational training in the EHS field.
EHS certifications are beneficial but not required.
Requirements
Position requires excellent written and communications skills; attention to detail; ability to interact with other employees, outside vendors, regulatory agency representatives and legal counsel;
the ability to work in and understand industrial production; and be able to work with databases, spreadsheets, presentations and documents.
Required Activities
1. An Industrial manufacturing environment inherently implies certain exposures which require safety precautions to be taken and protective equipment to be used
2. The site has areas where the work environment may involve exposure to high temperatures, dust and noise. Wearing of appropriate PPE (or other controls) is therefore necessary.
3. Ability to lift and handle objects up to 50 lbs.
4. Physical activities include sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, operating keyboard / mouse (constantly); walking, standing, (frequently) climbing, bending, stooping, lifting, pulling (occasionally)
