Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator with current Nuclear experience or experience within the last 365 days to join our team. As a Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all employees. This is a crucial role in our organization as it helps us prioritize the well-being of our employees and maintain compliance with relevant safety regulations.
Pay:
$65.00/Hour; $160 Per Diem/Day, $500 In, $500 Out and $2000 completion bonus
Duties:
- Maintain safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop preventive measures
- Provide safety training to employees on topics such as EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), first aid, CPR, and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations
- Collaborate with department managers to ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, training sessions, and other relevant data
- Prepare reports on safety performance and present findings to management
- Stay updated on current regulations and best practices in workplace safety
Requirements:
- Candidate must have experience working in a nuclear plant within the last 365 days.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of workers' compensation laws, OSHA regulations, and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) guidelines
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver effective training sessions and write comprehensive reports
- First aid certification is required; CPR certification is a plus
- Ability to fabricate solutions to address safety concerns creatively
