Fluor is Hiring a Remote GIS Specialist

Fluor, together with its joint-venture partner AECOM, is seeking candidates for the recently awarded California High-Speed Rail program. The team was a awarded a four-year program delivery support services contract by the California High-Speed Rail Authority, to provide program delivery and program management services to support one of the largest planned infrastructure projects in the U.S.The system will connect the 500-mile stretch between the Los Angeles region with the San Francisco Bay Area, with up to 24 stations. The first phase of the program is currently under construction in California’s Central Valley.Under general direction of the Civil Engineering Manager and the Assistant Director of Engineering and the CADD Specialist, the GIS Resource performs as a team member and aids with the conversion of CAD files to GIS with Asset Management levels and attributes through FME scripts, the management of the design and construction drawings/exhibits and data management of the ArcGIS data environment. The employee works in the Engineering Services Branch, which is part of the California High-Speed Rail Authority’s Office of Program Delivery. GeoView is ArcGIS based. The person needs to know how to work with ArcGIS enterprise portal, ArcPro, GIS Services, Web maps and Web apps.• Working with the GIS team to update and maintain the web apps (Viewers), GIS services and data layers.• GeoView meetings and coordination with the Engineering team.• GeoView service layers update and maintenance.• GeoView app configuration, updates, and Enhancements.• Linking GeoView data layers with Engineering data packs on SharePoint (RFCs, DCNs, DVRs, DLs).• Updating Engineering data layers and HSR base data layers according to the latest updates delivered to the GIS team.• Updating guidelines and manuals for the Engineering team according to the GeoView updates.• Updating current FME scripts, and development of new ones as required.• Handling engineering related GIS analysis and mapping requests• Other duties as assigned• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and ten (10) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements• Expert knowledge of ArcGIS enterprise portal, ArcPro, GIS Services, Web maps and Web apps• Knowledge of principles and practices of ArcGIS standards. • An understanding of FME, and how to develop scripts to allow for data transfers from DGN files.• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner• Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, piping components, commercial availability and cost of materials• Practical field experience• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs• 15 years of practical experience in transportation projects of significant size, with management responsibility• Expert knowledge of BIM model-based design software – Power InRoads, Power Railtrack, Open Roads Designer, and OpenRail Designer. Familiar with BIM environment is a plus.• Proficiency and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite - Photoshop and Illustrator • Knowledge of high-speed rail CADD requirements
