If you value teamwork, empowerment in your career, and are eager to champion innovative and sustainable solutions to our clients, this opportunity just may be for you!Reporting to the Field Engineering Manager, the Field Electrical, Instrumentation and Control System (E&I) Engineer is required to be involved in the day-to-day field-level discipline planning and execution as applicable inside the construction contractor's execution plan within their respective discipline battery limits. The role is to be the first line of defense in finding risks and opportunities through an adequate understanding of the hands-on work being executed, and provide the necessary engineering and technical support to mitigate or take advantage of them as the case may be. Working closely with construction, the Field E&I Engineer will coordinate and monitor the activities of assigned contractors performing work within the Electrical, Instrumentation and Control System disciplines providing field engineering information to ensure construction works comply with the design drawings, engineering standards, codes and specifications. Early involvement during engineering development and construction planning is considered in the Home Office to create value for clients’ expenditure while still achieving the required level of safety, quality, budget and schedule.The position will require the organization of field engineering discipline tasks, budgets, procedures, work practices, or compliance programs with knowledge from experience and expertise gained to perform the job duties and responsibilities listed below:• Responsible for Field Engineering activities related to electrical, instrumentation and control system disciplines and supervising Document Management teams in this respect.• Provide technical support within discipline battery limits to construction and the site quality program ensuring that all technical aspects of construction are satisfied. • During engineering development and construction planning phases at home office, monitor and control all interface tasks between electrical/instrumentation engineering and construction to ensure compliance with all construction driven approach requirements. • Complete miscellaneous discipline design tasks related to temporary construction facilities and utilities.• Comply with project and electrical code safe practices.• Comply with the Field Engineering program within the discipline scope of responsibility.• Prepare discipline technical work procedures.• Provide technical support of contracts.• Interpret the intent and requirements of the design documents; ensure design drawings are reviewed for completeness and constructability; and ensure drawings are marked-up and information provided as required for the preparation of as-built drawings • Coordinate, obtain, and provide responses to discipline Requests for Information (RFI) • Provide technical evaluation of bid proposals, as required for electrical and instrumentation disciplines • Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action • Attend all required Engineering walk-downs for addressing discipline items.• Work closely with all the construction management disciplines to comply with the respective reporting requirements and Coordination Plans of each discipline.• Responsible for reviewing and analyzing project schedules and cost• Responsible for participating in risk and value evaluation/studies in regard to cost and schedule control.• Responsible for helping to support approval payments made to suppliers and subcontractors• Responsible for providing advice on Contractual claims.• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with project experience.• Sixteen (16) years of experience as a Professional Electrical Engineer or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty (20) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications to comply with local requirements• Major EPC Project experience that includes green and brownfield experience.• Professional Engineer preferred but not required • Previous Fluor experience is an asset;• Good interpersonal and communication skills• Good organizational skills and capability of technical writing• Knowledgeable of safety policies and procedures as well as performing assigned duties in a safe manner and, while supervising others, taking responsibility for their safety and ensuring compliance with established safety policies and procedures and practicing safe work habits• Developing an understanding of all aspects of the technical package and contract• Performing Construction Engineering work requiring application of standard construction engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in performing a sequence of related construction engineering tasks. • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines• Having extensive knowledge with applicable codes and standards on a project
