Fluker's Cricket Farm is an insect agriculture company offering insect ingredients towards the insect consumption pet marketplace. Our mission is to contribute to a more circular food system by producing sustainable insect ingredients for pet food and pet nutrition. As Fluker's Cricket Farm enters an exciting new stage of growth and expansion of our insect production, we are looking for a Research Technician for our Port Allen, Louisiana facility.

Requirements & Responsibilities

• Order Processing: Accurately review and process incoming customer orders using our order management system.
• Packaging and Labeling: Safely and securely package live insects and reptile products according to established procedures and industry regulations. Properly label packages with the correct shipping information.
• Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure that all products meet Fluker Farms' high standards before shipping.
• Shipping Logistics: Select appropriate shipping methods based on customer requirements and ensure packages are ready for pickup by shipping carriers at scheduled times.
• Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels to avoid stockouts and shortages.
• Order Accuracy: Double-check orders to minimize errors and guarantee the correct products and quantities are sent to customers.
• Operate Staple Machine to Build Insect Shipping Boxes
• Able to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
• Ensures all personal safety equipment is in good condition and maintains proper usage
• Observes and adheres to all safety and security procedures
• Maintains both clean and safe work environments, and ensures all work areas are clean each day
•  No experience necessary with insect production, just a willingness to learn and be a team player
• Must be self-motivated, flexible, and have a positive attitude
• Able to work well in both a team-based environment as well as with limited supervision
• Able to read and write English, with excellent communication (oral and written) skills
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively
• Be able to work well under pressure and with time constraints
• Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods of time
• Be able to work in hot and humid conditions
• Possesses strong multitasking and decision making skills
• Must possess reliable transportation
• Must arrive on time and prepared for daily job tasks
• Must be able to perform other duties as assigned
• Forklift certification is a plus
• Bilingual is a plus (English and Spanish)
• Language: English (required)
