Flowserve is Hiring a Project Manager Near Kalamazoo, MI

Position Description:
The Project Manager is responsible for planning and managing the execution of projects inside the Seals and Systems Engineering organization. This includes creating project charters and schedules; coordinating and organizing project teams across different departments, sites, and regions; reporting project status and metrics; and identifying and resolving project risks and issues. The Project Manager will collaborate with Project Sponsors and/or Key Stakeholders to refine scope and objectives of new projects, and sometimes be required to personally complete various project activities to aid in the successful completion of the project. The Project Manager will be involved with many types of projects, such as material qualification testing, tool and process improvements, customer testing programs, and product sustainment projects.
Accountabilities:
  • Manage the execution of several projects at a time, as assigned by the Engineering Excellence Manager.
  • Create project charters, work breakdown structures, schedules, and tasks to ensure efficient and effective completion of project deliverables.
  • Facilitate and lead large project meetings to check status and ensure projects are proceeding on track within the approved scope, schedule, budget.
  • Communicate and report project status and related metrics throughout the organization.
  • Identify, escalate, and manage project risk and resolution.
  • Provide enthusiastic project leadership that encourages ownership, accountability, and innovation to a diverse group of Flowserve associates across several regions and time zones.
  • Collaborate with functional Business Leaders to identify and supervise project personnel and ensure appropriate resource capacity allocation.
  • Collaborate with Project Sponsors and Key Stakeholders to refine project scope and objectives and provide strategic direction to project teams to align with business strategies and stay within project guardrails.
  • Personally complete tactical project tasks if necessary to support the day-to-day project execution.
  • Support project audits as necessary.
  • Ensure personal and team compliance to Flowserve policies throughout project execution.
  • Perform all required trainings on time, which include safety trainings, import/export compliance, and ISO quest training.
Position Requirements:
  • 5 years’ experience in fluid motion and control industry preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in project management preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (also open to other technical degree or experience if possessing Project Management Professional certification)
  • Knowledge and experience with fundamental project management methodologies (traditional and agile)
  • Experience with project management software (Smartsheet, MS Planner and Project, Planview, etc.)
  • Proven track record of completing projects on time, within scope, and under budget
  • Experience in planning, estimating, scheduling, and budgeting time and resources
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues and risks
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and people skills
  • Capable of coordinating, organizing, and working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong “change agent” mentality with focus on organizational change management
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and display a sense of urgency
