Dimplex Thermal Solutions is Hiring a Project Manager Near Kalamazoo, MI

The Project Manager will work within the New Product Development (NPD) team and will coordinate launch activities for new product offerings to Dimplex OEM customers. This individual will work closely with Project Engineers, Sales, Technicians, Purchasing, Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to successfully launch new Dimplex Products from concept through start of production. The Project Manager will use the NPD phase gate launch process to govern new product launches.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with Sales to define Product Requirement Specifications for new business opportunities.
Assist Sales in developing accurate quotations for new applications.
Develop and manage relationships with key technical contacts at customers.
Employ the NPD process (Phase-gate approach) for program launches.
Develop efficient systems to manage the NPD process that are scalable and will support future business growth.
Collaborate with the DTS Service and Quality teams to improve product quality, reduce warranty, and exceed customer expectations.
Manage project timelines and customer expectations.
Ensure the NPD engineering team is collaborating closely with the DTS Supply Chain team on the procurement of new components and managing timing and safety stock expectations for support of new product launches.
Ensure the NPD engineering team is collaborating closely with the DTS Manufacturing Team on the development of fixturing, test equipment, work instructions, standard practices, etc. for new product launches.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
3 years of experience in Project management; experience with new product launch preferred
Strong communication and presentation skills
Experience developing & managing relationships with large customers
Experience implementing engineering processes, design standards, product data management (PDM) systems, etc. to optimize the efficiency of the engineering process and comply with industry standard quality systems (i.e. ISO-9000).
Knowledge of UL and CE requirements for industrial equipment is a plus
Experience with HVAC/Refrigeration systems, or fluid controls is highly desirable
Experience with low volume, high mix products is highly desirable
Experience working with Electronic Requirements Planning (ERP) systems
Proficient with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Proficient with Microsoft Project
Travel Requirements
This role will require occasional travel to meet with customers, vendors, and the Glen Dimplex Thermal Solutions (GDTS) Corporate Leadership Team. Travel is expected to be < 20%. Occasional travel internationally may be required.
