Position Summary

Welcomes patients and FLLEC visitors in a professional and inviting manner; performs intake process and inbound referrals; answers the telephone and promptly returns calls as needed; and interfaces with volunteers and Clinic staff

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet patients, their families, and visitors in a professional manner
• Processes inbound referrals within 1-2 days of receival
• Returns calls and voicemails in a timely fashion on a daily basis
• Schedule patient appointments in a multi physician practice
• Manages the front area of the clinic ensuring it is clean and in good standing prior to leaving shift.
• Manages backlog/waitlists and rescheduling effectively and in a timely matter
• Screen patients for eligibility qualifications both over the telephone or in person before appointment according to state regulations
• Verify patient forms are properly completed for all new and yearly patients
• Scan documents into electronic health records system
• Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion
• Sort and distribute US mail to the staff
• Is knowledgeable of various charities, community funding and resources to refer patients.
• Possess a “can do” attitude, and effectively interacts with FLLEC doctors, volunteers, employees, and patients
• Work well in a team environment
• Show concern for people and practices good listening skills
• Uses his/her time appropriately to complete tasks at hand.
• Maintains a quality patient experience.
• Follow procedures, state regulations and qualifications for our program
• Assists Clinic Supervisor with other tasks as directed

Qualifications

• (Bilingual - English/Spanish) is a MUST
• Multitask
• Microsoft Word / Excel savvy
• Ophthalmology knowledge is preferred
• Nonprofit knowledge and understanding is preferred

Reports to: Clinic Operations Manager

Educational and Other Requirements

• High School Diploma or higher
• 1-2 years nonprofit work experience (PREFERRED)
• 2 years administrative and clinical experience (PREFERRED)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
