POSITION SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse II in the Specialty Department provided individualized and specialized nursing care to patients in the department in accordance with physicians’ orders, recognized nursing standards, legal aspects of current nurse practice within the state and the Florida Health Care Plans policies and procedures. The nurse functions cooperatively with physicians and staff exhibiting teamwork characteristics. They demonstrate initiative, insight, and critical thinking skills in the care of the patients. Specialty Department RN II uses the nursing process to identify patient needs for continuous assessment. The RN II will document and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing actions and ensure a safe environment of care for the patient.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, skills and experience:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Maintain a valid Florida State Board of Nursing RN license required.
• Two years’ experience in a specialty unit preferred.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
• Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Clear English communication skills, written and oral.
• Veni-puncture /IV therapy required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Computer experience to include EHR experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT/ ICD 10 coding preferred.
• Ability to remain professional when working under stressful situations.
