Operations Manager - Structural Steel Fabrication and Erection

Florida Fabrication, a structural and miscellaneous steel fabricator located in Orlando and serving the commercial construction industry in central Florida is looking to hire an Operations Manager. Applicants with a minimum of 10 years in the STRUCTURAL STEEL industry will be considered.

The goal of this position is to ensure long-term growth and profitability of shop production and site operations by succeeding in the following:

Oversee all functions of office and shop including: sales, estimating, contract negotiations, payroll, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, human resources, insurance, project management, production, installation, quality assurance, and customer service of a structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication shop in Orlando, FL. The shop currently employs 5 fabricators, a shop foreman, and one admin while generating annual sales of $2 million. Customers are commercial general contractors working in the Orlando area.

Relevant experience includes 10 plus years of construction and/or structural steel project management for a similar-sized operation.

Skills required:

Knowledge of commercial construction contracts.

Experience in delivering excellent customer service.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication.

Knowledge of bookkeeping practices as it relates to payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Knowledge of commercial building codes as it relates to structural steel.

Knowledge of metal fabrication including welding, fabrication equipment, layout and installation.

Knowledge of shop equipment.

Familiarity with commercial insurance billing, reporting, and audits.

Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and retain personnel.

Ability to maintain excellent relationships with essential vendors.

Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and communicate drawings.

Ability to draft in CAD software very helpful.

This position pays $90,000 to $120,000 per year based on experience including paid holidays, 1 weeks paid vacation after 1 year, bonuses
