Job SummaryConsultants are seasoned, subject matter experts who apply specialized knowledge, typically as an individual contributor, in matters that require special interpretation or expertise. Incumbents use their discipline-specific and/or institutional knowledge to perform department activities. They participate in and/or lead critical, high-risk, complex initiatives, programs and projects, have frequent contact with internal and external business partners, facilitate/ influence strategic thinking and direction and influence peers and leaders across the organization to act on issues that have organization-wide impact. Incumbents may directly manage a small number of employees (two or less); the primary function of the role is consulting.

Essential Functions

  • The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.
  • Provides consultative support to organization management within context of overall strategic objectives and broad policy; typically supports senior management.
  • Synthesizes collected data/information and advises clients on options, risks, cost versus benefits and impacts on client's business processes, systems, employees, etc.
  • Has frequent contact with internal and external business partners to obtain and share information for influencing decisions, selling concepts, and/or providing advice and counsel that impacts business objectives.
  • Understands strategic direction of business unit and the organization.
  • Acts as communications lead for department. May develop communication messaging and presentations for presentation throughout the organization. Acts as spokesperson for leadership, as appropriate.
  • May oversee reporting, monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • May lead, coach and develop a small staff.

Qualifications

Required Work Experience

  • 6 years related work experience.

Required Education

  • Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience

Business Specific Criteria are technical / functional skills / business knowledge that is preferred:

  • Experience and proficiency in the Enrollment & Billing environment and systems, all lines of business
  • Experience in delivering multi-year initiatives aligned to large scale customer and employee impacting experiences
  • Experience and proficiency in system migrations; moving large volumes of data from one system or vendor to another
  • Experience and proficiency in end-to-end testing, including UAT and coordinating testing efforts across multiple teams
  • Experience/Familiarity of Agile methodology
  • Leadership experience, direct accountability.
  • Fosters a culture of innovation and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated change leadership competencies.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating, providing direction to and ensuring contractual SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met with vendors
  • Demonstrated proficiency in maintaining and updating a comprehensive letter template library, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and adherence to regulatory and brand guidelines for effective customer communication.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for business related purposes, such as attending vendor meetings and onsite testing/audit needs to enhance collaboration, and ensure regulatory requirements are met.
