Florence is Hiring a Machine Operator II Near Manhattan, KS

Florence Corporation, the nation's leading manufacturer of quality multi-unit mailboxes is now hiring Machine Operators (CNC Machinist) for 1st and 2nd shift. Manufacturing or machine operating experience is preferred however we provide on-the-job training.

We offer $17.25 per hour with a $1.00 per hour shift differential, generous benefits, quarterly bonuses, employee appreciation swag and events, and opportunities for advancement.

Hours

  • 1st shift: Monday through Thursday 5:00am to 3:30pm
  • 2nd shift: Monday through Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am
  • Friday work is are either voluntary or mandatory same in time but only a 6 or 8 hour shift (advance notice is given)

Machine Operator/CNC Machinist Team Member Pay and Benefits:

  • $17.25 per hour ($18.25 per hour for 2nd shift - includes $1.00 shift differential)

What you'll do

Following on-the-job training, Machine Operators will operate the EMK Amada Turret Punch Press Machine or Granco Saws to make inserts for mailbox units.

  • Participate in problem solving as directed and recommend ideas for continual improvement.
  • Attend and constructively participate in safety meetings and safety training
  • Stand, move and lift items for up to 10 hours in a given shift
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines and wear proper PPE
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with other work groups, both within and outside of his/her department
  • Keep area clean and free from clutter to ensure a smooth operation and desirable work conditions
  • Understand and demonstrate performance in managing component parts associated with the job including accounting for use, scrap, rework of material as well as identification, proper storage and care

What we need

  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to cross-train and work on multiple machines
  • Must be on time and maintain good attendance consistently
  • Must be able to read and understand the English language
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screen if offered a position
