Floor Coverings International (FCI) is the national leader for "in-home" flooring sales. FCI Louisville East is a locally owned and operated residential and commercial flooring company that sales and installs a variety of flooring materials including carpet, hardwood, vinyl, laminate, and porcelain tile. The Position

The FCI Production Coordinator is responsible for managing the production process and ensuring our customers have a positive experience. The Production Coordinator (PC) verifies materials are ordered and ready for each job, keeps the warehouse stocked and organized, schedules and works closely with installers and ensures that all jobs are produced both efficiently and profitably. The PC becomes a key contact for the customer during the production process, introducing the installers and communicating progress to the customer, problem solving, conducting a walk-through with the customer and collecting final payment.

The Fit

People who succeed in this role are those with good project management and communication skills. They are detail oriented, good problem solvers and capable of communicating effectively to customers and installers. The ideal candidate will also have some flooring or handyman experience with the capability to do some small repairs or punch list items on a job if necessary. The production coordinator will be required to operate a forklift, take deliveries, pick up supplies from time to time from vendors and assist in delivering products if necessary.

Training

The Project Coordinator will work closely with the other members of the team including the sales associates, office manager and owner of the business. The individual will work with the owner to understand the production process and will go through forklift operations certification. Training will be provide for online technology, salesforce and estimating tools.

The Production Coordinator ensures excellent customer service by doing the following activities.

• Work with the Sales Associates to ensure they understand the scope and details of each project.
• Ensure all product needed for the job is ordered accurately and available on the day of installation.
• Coordinates installation dates with customers and installers and communicates appropriately.
• Creates work orders and communicates compensation with installers for each job.
• Set proper expectations with customers regarding the installation process and how it will affect their daily lives and the condition of their home during the installation process.
• Conduct a walkthrough with the customer when the job is complete to ensure they are happy with the final product.

In addition to providing exceptional customer service, the Production Coordinator is responsible for the following:

• Accept and verify product deliveries.
• Keep the warehouse organized and stocked appropriately.
• Picks up and deliver additional products to job site if necessary.
• Keep all job boards, work orders, etc. up-to-date and accurate.
• Assist installation crews if necessary to finish projects and ensure a clean jobsite.
• Conduct small installations or repairs as needed

Qualifications:

• Strong project management skills with a focus on process and discipline and a good eye for detail.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and installers.
• Motivated self-starter that can work without direct supervision.
• Computer, internet savvy. Able to learn new software quickly.
• Clean, safe driving record.
• Prior flooring or handyman experience helpful.

Work hours are typically from 8:00 am to 5pm, Monday – Friday. Hours vary depending on the daily production workflow. Weekend and evening hours are rare, but necessary on occasion.

• The Production Coordinator will always represent the brand, owner and themselves in a professional manner and follow company policy and guidelines while on the job or while wearing logo apparel.
• The Production Coordinator is expected to strive for continual improvement and seek to educate themselves and the brand on new flooring types, installation methods and best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
