Position Description 

Responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant; provides professional leadership and direction to personnel. Ensures the store is being run to meet Flip Burger's specifications and commitment to quality. Maintains a safe and orderly work place. You will supervise daily operations to ensure that food safety, product preparation, cleanliness and inventory control standards are maintained. Schedules and supervises staff. Maintains standards of restaurant safety and security. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position. Leads by example. 

As a Shift Supervisor you implement supervisory skills and apply them to the daily operations of the restaurant. You will also learn how to handle incidents that may occur at the restaurant. Successfully completing these tasks, and setting a good example for your staff, will prepare you for the next level.

 Tasks and responsibilities:

1. Supervises and handle if needed food preparation to ensure that food safety and operations standards are maintained.
2. Coordinates and supervises staff so that standards of cleanliness are maintained as outlined in the Operations Manual.
3. Manages a team staff of approximately 4 to 12. Assigns, oversees and evaluates work. Recommends promotion, transfer, or termination of employees. May conduct written and verbal staff evaluations.
4. Performs paperwork duties and assists with product orders and inventory as needed.
5. Follows all policies & procedures as outlined in the Operations Manual.
6. Becomes familiar with and comply with all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Prerequisites:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent, college degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years in restaurant environment, experience in supervising and training staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally. Must have the ability to work a minimum of 45 to 55 hours a week.

Misc. Requirements:

• Must have a car and maintain a reliable and timely source of transportation at all times.
• Must have a working telephone at all times.
• Must be able to work any day of the week, day or night.

Compensation:

• $18.64/hour starting total
• $16.00/hour starting
• $1.94/hour in food and drinks
• $1.00/hour in tips (variable)
• $1.70 toward medical/dental
