The Flint Hills Volunteer Center strives to meet the needs of the community by partnering with, and through, existing agencies, while utilizing their corps of volunteers as community builders to serve in impact-based assignments.
Description
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for supporting the overall volunteer plan for the Flint Hills Volunteer Center. This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment, orientation, training, managing, troubleshooting, implementation, reporting, communications with and recognition of the volunteer crew. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders and is mission driven to provide an extraordinary volunteer experience.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
· Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
· Own a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
· Be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien
Needed Skills
· Independent, self-motivated work style
· Outgoing, friendly and able to multitask effectively
· Excellent follow-through and strong organization skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to communicate well with people from a variety of backgrounds
· Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite, Social Media forums, Canva, and database programs
Time Commitment: 25-30 hours a week. Occasional weekend (2-3 hours) to supervise student projects.
Time to be split on two programs: CSC (Connecting Students to Communities) program and AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program.
Hourly Position
Pay Range - $18-$20 an hour
Position open until filled. Hiring based on successful criminal background check.
