Position Summary
Inspects and maintains tools company-wide. Ensures the proper storage, maintenance and inventory of tools and related equipment is in accordance with company standard operating procedures and policies. Receives, stores, and issues tools and related equipment, and maintains related records. |
Job Duties and Responsibilities
1 | Inspects, repairs and maintains tooling and test equipment. |
2 | Performs skilled manual and technical work using hand tools, multi-meters and oscilloscopes. |
3 | Maintains and organizes tooling and test equipment records. |
4 | Maintains both manual and computerized files, making appropriate entries as required. |
5 | Researches, identifies, and procures tooling and test equipment as assigned. |
6 | Originates and tracks calibration and repair work orders for tooling and test equipment, monitors repair reports, and initiates alerts of possible tooling problems. |
7 | Issues tools and related equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures. |
8 | Receives purchased hardware, tooling, and consumables, and places them in correct locations in accordance with established procedures. |
9 | Monitors the shelf life of dated material to ensure serviceability and compliance with company guidelines. |
10 | Identifies and evaluates trends in tooling repair and calibration activities. |
11 | Ensures the security of the tool room and the inventory therein as instructed and in accordance with company policy and practices. |
12 | Completes required documentation on a timely, thorough and legible basis, as required. |
13 | Originates calibration/repair alert reports, tooling/test equipment reports, and tool inventory reports. |
14 | Files and maintains documentation properly according to company policies and procedures. |
15 | Ensures the work area is maintained in a clean, neat, and organized manner. |
16 | Identifies, locates, and removes from service any tooling that is due for calibration, and ensures expedition of calibration as appropriate. |
17 | Follows safety procedures and ensures use of appropriate safety equipment for the work being performed in the tool room. |
18 | Performs other duties as assigned. |
