The Regulatory Affairs Program Administrator (RAPA) assists the Regulatory Affairs management team with responsibilities and tasks related to the Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other aviation authorities, and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
General Regulatory Affairs Activities:
•Be knowledgeable on all relevant regulatory requirements related to this role.
•Maintain Training/Operations Specifications and coordinate change requests with our satellite training centers.
•Subscribe to and review appropriate Orders, Notices and Notices of Proposed Rulemaking to identify changes applicable to FlightSafety’s operations.
•Monitor and report on status of requests and regulatory documents submitted to government authorities. Monitor status of current or proposed deviations and/or exemptions
•Coordinate requests for approval document syllabi from aviation authorities and customers.
• Review and archive regulatory compliance and facility audits; coordinate and archive training
center response when applicable.
• Assist with update and management of Regulatory Affairs TeamSpace site.
• Monitor Waiver/Request notices; Coordinate with Training Centers and appropriate
government entity for approvals.
• Review customer supplied intellectual property (CSIP); Approve and post for use in training.
• Monitor courseware approval aging report and coordinate with Certificate Management Unit
for approval/rejection status.
• Assist in other Regulatory Affairs areas as needed.
DOT/TSA related activities:
• Coordinate and document quarterly random testing.
• Serve as backup Designated Employer Representative (DER).
• Coordinate with employers for release of information requirements.
• Assist with new hire documentation for Drug and Alcohol Program.
• Serve as backup TSA administrator.
• Track Security Awareness training completions.
• Monitor Alien Flight Student Program (AFSP) photo uploads and process.
Associate's degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school preferred, or three (3) years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; equivalency years experience substitution must be in related field
Two (2) years’ experience in a work environment of an upper level management support position involving confidentiality, organizational skills and time constraint pressures, required.
Four (4) years’ experience with FlightSafety International, preferred.
Knowledge of aviation industry terminology, FlightSafety pilot and maintenance training courses, Regulation and policy specified by FAA, EASA and other NAA guidelines, preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Able to work unsupervised. Preferred ability to adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure situations. Ability to interact with various levels of management in a professional manner
