In Flight Inc., is a nonprofit that provides support services within a home environment and the community for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

We are hiring for our Day Hab Manager position in Ghent. This is a 40-hour full time hourly position. Monday- Friday 8am-4pm, no weekends and no on call. The Day Hab Manager reports to the Day Hab Coordinator.

Overview: Oversee day-to-day operations of the Day Hab and ensure delivery of habilitation services to the individuals. Establish effective Day Habilitation programming for individuals by fostering individual growth, development, and safety and by facilitating integration of individuals into the community. Ensure that all Individuals’ rights are upheld.

$18.25- $20.25 an hour Compensation is given for education and/or experience. **

Cell phone reimbursement offered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative and programmatic leadership to employees assigned to your location.
  • Provide ongoing supervision to individuals at assigned site as needed. Complete weekly staffing schedule. Ensure adequate staff coverage at all times.
  • Along with the consultation of Human Resources responsible for hiring, promoting, terminating, evaluating all employees assigned to location,
  • Develop and implement Habilitation Plans based on current Individual Service Plan (ISP) for all individuals using principles of person-centered planning. Supervise and observe all other site staff in the implementation of Habilitation Plans. Ensure proper documentation and submit it on a monthly basis for billing purposes. Counsel all individuals in a professional manner, as needed.
  • Ensure that there is a proper system for medication administration in the program including scheduling certified staff, staff training, accurate documentation, self-medication training to individuals as applicable and routine review with nursing staff.
  • Ensure that nutritious meals are provided to the individuals, be knowledgeable about each individual’s dietary requirements and ensure that they are implemented.
  • Conduct routine meetings with program staff to allow for the exchange of issues, concerns, plans for significant events and updates of Agency policies and procedures.
  • Ensure program budgets are adhered to.
  • Serve as a member of the Treatment Team for individuals in the program.
  • Participate in the inspection and re-certification procedures for the program. Monitor plans of corrective action with staff. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Dress appropriately, professionally, and in such a way as to model appropriate dress for residents; provide supervision and training to employees with regard to appropriate dress at the work site.
  • Assist residents to develop good coping skills, provide supervision and training to employees with regard to resident coping skills.

Qualifications:

  • BA Degree in Sociology, Psychology, or related field and a minimum of 2 years of day/vocational supervisory experience with ID/DD population.

Or

  • Associated Degree in Sociology, Psychology, or related field and a minimum of 5 years of day/vocational/supervisory experience with ID/DD population.

Or

  • HS Diploma and a minimum of 10 years of day/vocational/supervisory experience with ID/DD population.
  • Ability to safely perform physical intervention techniques.
  • Possession of a NYS clean driver's license required with acceptable driving record per underwriting guidelines.
  • Acceptable Criminal History Background per NYS Justice Center In Flight guidelines and policies.
