Job Description:

The IT Infrastructure Monitoring Platform Administrator’s primary objective is to help infrastructure and operations (I&O) teams mitigate operational risk and optimize operational costs by providing:
• Increased visibility of Data Center and IT infrastructure
• Improved accuracy of anomaly detection and alerting
• Improved efficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosis
• Increased infrastructure availability
The primary responsibility of the IT Infrastructure Monitoring Platform Administrator is managing, operating, and maintaining our IT Infrastructure Monitoring Platform (ScienceLogic).

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain the availability, integrity, security, health, and functional fit of the ScienceLogic platform, as well as associated technologies (PowerFlow, PowerPacks, integrations, etc.)
  • Triage, prioritize, and resolve platform level issues, as well as issues related to integrations with adjacent systems
  • Act as an escalation point for the various Data Center and IT Infrastructure teams using ScienceLogic daily
  • Communicate system changes to the users in advance so they understand any impacts.
  • Understand, analyze, and provide recommendations on process, usage, configuration, and platform enhancements
  • Curate and host effective training sessions with the various Data Center and IT Infrastructure teams
  • Manage Profiles, Permission Sets, Role, and Sharing Rules to enforce principle of least access
  • Collaborate closely with the various Data Center and IT infrastructure and development teams to ensure the functional integrity of deliverables, document functional requirements for features and projects.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of ScienceLogic experience
  • ScienceLogic SL1 Operator
  • ScienceLogic Certified Professional (SCP)
  • A strong understanding of best practices and functionality, as well as a proficiency in ScienceLogic SL1, PowerPacks, PowerFlow, and SyncPacks
  • High level proficiency in IT Infrastructure Monitoring
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work in ambiguous situations 
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to mentor or lead other administrators on the team
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working within an IT Support environment
  • Positive attitude with a strong sense of urgency and ownership of quality work deliverables
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and a positive, customer satisfaction mindset are critical to this position
  • Experience with ticketing systems; in particular ServiceNow, in an ITIL environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • ScienceLogic Certified Expert (SCE)
  • ITIL v3 certification preferred or higher
  • Network and/or Security desired
  • Use of command line tools such as CMD, Telnet, SSH, GIT, and SCP (Powershell, Bash or VBScript language skills is a plus)
  • Experience applying troubleshooting techniques across various server, application, and network technologies including:
    • Remote Desktop, SSH, FTP
    • Microsoft Server Technologies (e.g. Server 2012) and OS Administration
    • VMWare and/or other virtualization technologies
    • VLAN’s, ACL’s, IP subnets
    • Networking and Switching concepts
    • Firewall concepts

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Walk or stand for 10% of the time
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
  • Lift 25 lbs.
  • Travel 5% of the time

Benefits are subject to change at the Company’s discretion. 

Base Pay Range: Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $88,000 - $100,000. However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications. 

Variable Pay: Discretionary annual bonus, based on personal and company performance.
