Job Description
You are interested in or have experience in the arts and working with children. You are high energy and comfortable spending long periods on your feet. arts educator with a solid artistic skill set, teaching experience creating curriculum for and instructing elementary-aged students, and who enjoys working with young artists at all skill levels. You create a positive and thoughtful classroom and are looking for an opportunity to work with a diverse population.
Position:
Teaching Assistants for Fleisher’s Summer Camp have varying schedules of six-to-eight-hour shifts between 8:30 am – 5:30 pm. Depending on the shift, Teaching Assistants support camper drop-off, art classes, lunches, and After Camp Club. Teaching Assistants are assigned to support art classes for ages between 5 – 18 years old. During art class, this position supports set-up, and clean-up, and works with campers who need further instruction or behavioral support. During drop-off, lunch, and After Camp Club, Teaching Assistants act as camp counselors, maintaining safety procedures, playing games, and engaging with campers, as well as transitioning campers from space to space.
All Teaching Assistants must attend a mandatory training session for staff and faculty on Friday, June 14 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
