Job Type: Full-Time
Payrate: $18.00 per hour D.O.E
Description of work:
- Preparing and operating CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
- Understanding specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
- Loading programs into CNC machines.
- Entering initial settings (e.g. selecting parameters, positioning material, and zeroing the machine).
- Loading workpieces into the machine.
- Monitoring machining operations.
- Intervening in the event of malfunctions, breakdowns, and machine errors.
- Finishing workpieces and performing quality control checks.
- Machining: A CNC operator needs a strong understanding of machining. This includes comprehending how the machine works, inputting the correct code, and achieving the desired results.
- Programming: Proficiency in programming is crucial. Operators must create precise instructions for the CNC machine to follow, enabling intricate designs.
