Olive-Harvey College’s Career Programs and Continuing Education (CPCE) Department encompasses all facets of transportation, distribution, and logistics (TDL).CPCE programs enhance the student classroom experience through practical, hands-on training in areas of automotive and diesel technology, aviation, commercial driving, forklift operation and supply chain and logistics, to meet industry needs.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Reporting to the Fleet Asset Manager, the Yard Supervisor - Fleet Asset, oversees and manages the operations of the yard, responsible for the proper storage, tagging, and maintenance of trucks, trailers, and buses to ensure vehicles are within standards for road and yard usage.Monitors the review of students credentials to ensure their documents remain in compliance to drive/operate vehicles and take the skills/drive portion of the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) test at the yards training area.
The Yard Supervisor - Fleet Asset also surveys and inspects the yard and its operations on an ongoing basis to ensure yard serves as an appropriate training area for students; maintains compliance with regulations set by the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State; and is properly maintained at all times.
The position may be required to work varying hours and/or shifts to meet the operational needs of the college.
