In this role you will…

• Drive the development of Flare’s chemiproteomic engine with responsibilities to build strategic plans for next-gen analytics tools and data informatics capabilities. 
• Catalogue reactive cysteines and their interactions.
• Optimize analytics at identification and quantification stages.
• Increase the probability of interaction identification through cell line optimization, proteogenomics approaches, etc.
• Summarize and communicate results to project teams (biochemistry, mass spectrometry, biology, medicinal chemistry), provide intellectual input, and contribute to decision-making in early drug discovery.
• Develop in collaboration with Scientific Computing the company wide strategy for data normalization and integration.
• Identify technologies that will enable efficient data integration.
• Drive the adoption of reproducible research platforms.
• Design data architecture that enables data connectivity across different functions
• Contribute to AI/ML nascent efforts as part of Flare’s overall growth strategy and mission to drug transcription factors, partnering with different functions and at various stages of early drug development. 
• Actively contribute to defining our target prioritization for pipeline entry
• Lead building state-of-the-art technology in target prioritization using internal and public multimodal and multi-omics data.
• Perform exploratory analysis using data science techniques on structured and unstructured datasets and develop algorithms for early drug discovery efforts.
• Develop or oversee the development of visualization tools that allow the data exploration of complex biological datasets.

• You have a PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics or equivalent experience in an industry.
• You bring previous experience with proteomics data processing and interpretation.
• You have a minimum of 5 years’ industry experience, and ideally you have at least 3 years of early drug discovery experience.
• You have experience with high volume drug development data (OMICs, chemical structures, etc.).
• You also have strong knowledge of AI/ML frameworks.
• You can demonstrate proficiency with git, Python and / or R, and other modern DevOps practices.
• You can manage and motivate people and work done through CRO partners.
• You may have experience with knowledge graphs and semantic web
• You may have experience with Spotfire, Tableau or other data visualization platforms.
• You may have experience in an oncology setting.
• You may have experience with AWS.
• You may also have experience with HPC and container orchestration.
• You have had exposure to knowledge graphs/semantic web.
• You have a track record of complex problem solving, critical thinking and leading others to achieve novel insights.
• You have the capacity to manage ambiguity and uncertainty, within a fast growing, dynamic and risk-taking environment with resiliency, higher order multitasking skills and self-motivation.
• You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, especially around delivering compelling scientific narratives attuned to a particular audience.
• You enjoy fostering a culture of innovation.
• You love science and have a sense of humor.
