Flagler Health+ Job Opportunities is Hiring a Sterile Processing Tech Lead, Flagler Surgery Center Full-Time 7am-3pm Near St Augustine, FL

Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 5 Years of Sterile Processing experience.

Must have a minimum of 1 year Sterile Processing experience holding CRCST.

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)

Post-Employment: Certification in Healthcare Leadership (CHL) preferred. CHL required within 1 year of hire. Core Competencies passed at 90 days from date of hire.

  • Understands SPD equipment operation and general maintenance. Verify operating condition of SPD equipment using efficacy monitoring tests and devices. Transfers sterilized inventory to correct locations. Monitors inventories and condition of sets and corrects if necessary.
  • Maintains a high standard of cleanliness in the entire work area. Works closely with operating room personnel to ensure the instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and available for patient use.
  • Uses Supply Pyxis with proficiency. Provides training to staff members as requested. Attends SPD in-services and staff meetings.
  • Proficient in use and administration of instrument tracking system. Competency & handling of all surgical instrumentation, current or new.
  • Perform basic equipment troubleshooting prior to contacting Biomed or O.E.M. for repair. Implements set changes. Provides or coordinates staff in-services regarding safety, handling, etc.
  • Provides or coordinates staff in-services regarding safety, handling, etc. Researches new product or workflow ideas and proposes to supervisor. Works on projects with supervisor, level IV technician, or lead technician. Acts as a liaison to the O.R. in the event of an issue or problem.
  • Coordinates on-call and daily work schedules for SPD staff. Preparation of monthly reporting.
  • Administrator of instrument tracking system. Conducts performance reviews (core competencies).
  • Follows proper procedure while handling an increased number of specialized instrumentation (e.g. Large open Heart Tray, Small Open Heart Tray, Coronary Tray, Mediastinoscopy Tray, Thoracotomy Tray).
