CITY OF BUNNELL is Hiring a Park and Recreation Maintenance Technician Near Bunnell, FL

The City Commission desires candidates who are visionary, innovative and team oriented in their approach, and able to
employ a style that engenders mutual trust and openness with community Partners and Stake holders. This is a crew
position for the Parks and Recreation department. The Parks and Recreation crew is responsible for the care and
maintenance of all City Parks and rental facilities. In addition, this crew is also responsible for the maintenance and
janitorial duties at all City offices. This position will report directly to a Parks and Recreation Crew Leader.

Duties:
• Assist with regular facility assessments/inspections and provide information on the condition of all City

parks and facilities.

Operate a variety of light equipment such as mowers and pressure washers and handheld tools such

as weed eaters, blowers, pole saws, chain saws, etc.; use basic maintenance tools such as hammer,
screwdriver, paint brush, drill, fence post digger, saw, etc.

Perform janitorial, custodial, and ground maintenance tasks including but not limited to cleaning,

mowing, edging, trimming, waste/littler removal, raking, planting, sod placement/removal, fertilizing, etc.

Inspect, maintain, and repair within skill set facility items such as tables, benches, playground

equipment, fences, sinks, toilets, bathroom towel/soap dispensers, etc.

Respond to emergency park and facility reports and take steps needed to resolve the reported situation

while on-call, sometimes after hours and on weekends; assist with City recovery actions following
states of emergencies.

Other duties as assigned and required.

Skills/Qualifications:
• Ability to understand and follow written or oral directions.

Ability to lift, move or carry objects over 50 pounds; ascend and descend ladders, stairs, ramps;

bending and leaning of body to perform all required projects.

Ability to work in outdoor and adverse conditions.
Ability to work a flex schedule, including working late hours and weekends or after hours for on-call

response, as needed or assigned.

Ability to complete tasks and assignments in a timely manner with little direct supervision.

Educational Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED; or higher post-secondary degree

Must possess a valid Florida Class “E” Driver’s License or higher class CDL.

Professional Licenses:
• Valid Florida Driver’s License

Position must be willing to obtain all directed certifications in the time limit established by the City

Manager.
