Flagler County Sheriff Office is Hiring an Offender Programs & Services Supervisor Near Bunnell, FL

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates efforts between Probation, Judges, Flagler County Drug and Alcohol, Epic Behavioral staff (SMART Program), Rehab facilities for inmates that are approved to attend upon release;
  • Responsible for recruiting, directing, coordinating all activities with facility volunteers; approving program facilitators and coordinating their schedules; coordinating the educational and pastoral programs and activities;
  • Assists inmates in becoming involved in GED classes (as well as administering GED testing services); Operation Homeward Bound and Treatment programs;
  • Responds to Inmate Request Forms relative to various matters as assigned;
  • Manages personnel within the Inmate Administrative Services Section;
  • Formulates goals and objectives for long and short term planning;
  • Instructs, assigns and reviews work of others, maintains standards, coordinates activities, allocates personnel, acts on employee problems, selects new employees, and approves disciplinary actions, discharges, transfers, promotions, and salary increases;
  • Ensures that the Pre-Trial Services, Inmate Records, Classification and Inmate Affairs units operate in compliance with established policies and standard operating procedures;
  • Communicates regularly with the Courts and Law Enforcement regarding issues regarding the operation of sections;
  • Serves as a management liaison with outside criminal justice agencies including Clerk of the Court, Judiciary and Law Enforcement;
  • Develops and implements plans and goals for the division through positive communications with staff, outside agencies, and the general public;
  • Receives, reviews, processes, files and/or submits a variety of documents and reports such as population reports, budget expenditure reports, and general letters of correspondence, etc. This also includes overseeing all fiscal accounts within the Division and report to the Chief of Court and Detention Services;
  • Responsible for overseeing the medical section to include providing any necessary paperwork for proofs of accreditation;
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Selection Criteria:

  • Graduation from High School or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma recognized by the State of Florida; AND
  • Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Social Services, Public Finance, Criminal Justice, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Experience may be substitute on a year for year basis for the required education.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a correctional environment, preferable.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a management or supervisory capacity, preferable.
  • Must have valid Florida Driver’s License.

Special Selection Criteria:

  • Must possess a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Must remain current on case law, FL Model Jail Standards and FL Accreditation Standards.
