Are you interested in case management, counseling, or social work? Look no further – Flagler Cares is seeking a career-driven Peer Recovery Specialist to join our incredible team. In this role you will be a part of the Coordinated Opioid Recovery (CORe) program. CORe is a multi-agency, multidisciplinary system of care that includes Community Paramedics, Behavioral Health Counselors, Certified Peer Recovery Specialists, and medication management providers to address the Opioid crisis. You will manage a caseload of individuals seeking peer recovery support services. Your work includes peer coaching, developing recovery plans, providing resources, collaborating with the team on care plan goals, and outreach.

What will you be doing?

  • Empowering individuals on their path to recovery through peer support, empathy, and understanding.
  • Utilizing your lived experience to provide guidance, encouragement, and resources to those seeking recovery.
  • Fostering a supportive and non-judgmental environment that promotes autonomy, personal growth, and resilience.
  • Documenting encounters and services provided in our LINC system.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to serve individuals with behavioral health and social care needs.
  • Developing individualized recovery plans and strategies.
  • Advocating for the needs and rights of individuals in recovery.

Are you our next Peer Recovery Specialist?

  • Personal experience with recovery from substance use disorders and/or mental health challenges.
  • 2 years of sustained recovery.
  • Previous work or volunteer related experience.
  • Certified Peer Recovery Specialist certified through the Florida Certification Board or the ability to complete certification within first year of employment.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build trust.
  • A strong desire and willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities for career growth.
  • Commitment to upholding professional and ethical standards.
  • Successfully pass a Level 2 Background Screening.
  • Current Florida Driver’s License.
