Fitzgerald School District is Hiring a World Languages Teacher (Elementary/Middle) Near Warren, MI

NOTICE OF OPENING: Spanish & World Languages Teacher
LOCATION: Mound Park Upper Elementary & Chatterton Middle School
WORK YEAR: 2023-2024 School Year
SALARY: Per FEA Contract

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Language Endorsements in FA through FS
  • Ability to manage time, self-directed.
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Patience to work with diverse populations and language barriers.
  • Experience with data driven decision making.
  • Familiar with the common core standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for collaboration & course planning, skill assessment, & instruction.
  • Must be able to implement the common core essential elements.
  • Participate in professional development and implement best practices.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Accommodates the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as required.
  • Provide high quality instruction that supports and aligns to the district's educational vision and mission
  • Remain knowledgeable of educational standards and strategies to meet the academic, developmental and social emotional needs of students
  • Assess and modify instructional practice leading toward increased student achievement
  • Utilize educational technology to support student’s instruction and learning
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with students, peers, parents and community
  • Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by administration.

Schedule: three hours of World Languages courses for 4th grade, 5th grade and Middle School. Two hours of Middle School Spanish.
