Non-Certified Instructors

Special Education, Early Elementary, Elementary, Middle School, and High School

$35 per hour 

Special Education Program at FHS

  • Monday, July 1, 2024, to Thursday, August 1, 2024 (Mon - Thurs - 5-week program) Hours: 7:45-12:00 (with extended hours on field trip days) 
  • Pre-school Tuesday July 9, 2024 to Thursday July 35, 2024 Hours
  • Additional 12 hours available for preparation
  • Mandatory Orientation Thursday, June 27, 2024, 8:00-12:00 at FHS
  • Non-Certified Teachers, 100 hours $35/hour Not To Exceed (NTE) $3500
  • Timesheet submission for payment bi-weekly.

Job Description:

Summer School Instructors (Multiple Positions) including Special Education, Special Education Preschool, Special Education, Early Education, Elementary, Middle School, High School

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • 48 college credits or more preferred
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree is highly desirable
  • Experience with working with youth from diverse backgrounds (ELL and/or SpEd)
  • The ability to meet the needs of students with multiple needs.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing curriculum and/or project-based enrichment activities.
  • Experience with literacy & science integration.
  • Experience with Technology and classroom application
  • Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children in order to effectively problem solve
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders
  • Belief in the commitment to increasing personal growth, both academic and social-emotional, to obtain the highest level of achievement for every student.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Academic Instruction for ELA and/or Math based on Iep requirements.
  • Support IEP goals through programming to support Daily living skills, academic goals, behaviors and social goals.
  • Guidance SEL supports and small student support activities or counseling as needed 
  • Attend an orientation training.
  • Maintain attendance data and individual student portfolios.
  • Duties and responsibilities as needed by Coordinators and Director. 
  • Timesheets must be submitted for payroll processing

Job assignments are determined by the Special Education and Pupil Services Administrator and Please indicate in your cover letter/letter of interest the program in which you are most interested. 

If you are not a current FPS employee, this position is temporary for the summer dates listed. There is no reassurance of continued employment as this is a temporary summer assignment only for non-FPS employees. 

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of NCBC (fingerprinting) and CORI prior to your start of employment.
