DescriptionFisher Associates is seeking an experienced GIS Analyst to join our GIS Team within the Geomatics Group. The GIS Analyst will provide creativity and support to the company in the field of GIS.
The GIS Analyst I will be responsible for assisting in the development, maintenance, and analysis of spatial data to support various projects and initiatives. The successful candidate will work on multiple concurrent projects and contribute to mapping, data analysis, and database management tasks. The successful candidate will work within a team providing cartographic and mapping related tasks and support for various clients.

The primary function of this role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships adhering to the Fisher Clientship philosophy.
  • Create maps and visualizations using ESRI software to support project requirements.
  • Assist in the production of high-quality cartographic products for reports and presentations.
  • Perform GIS data manipulation, automation, conversion, and migration tasks.
  • Acquire, compile, enter, and manage spatial data from various sources into geodatabases.
  • Integrate geospatial data from multiple formats and disparate sources.
  • Integrate python scripts and web apps into project workflows as needed.
  • Facilitate training in hardware and ESRI software for field and office staff as needed.
  • Attend client meetings and assist with proposals and cost estimates as needed.
  • Work in a team environment, follow best practices, and provide data accuracy and integrity through quality control measures.
  • Produce professional quality deliverables each day within established deadlines.
  • Read and understand engineering sketches, drawings, and documents.
RequirementsEducation & Experience
  • BA/BS in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or other program with GIS coursework required.
  • Minimum 3 years with ESRI ArcGIS experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of project experience in a consulting firm or associated government agency.
  • Strong proficiency with ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro is required.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise environments preferred.
  • Experience with Mobile Data Collection applications, ESRI ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123 preferred.
  • FAA Part 107 remote pilot’s certificate a plus.
  • Experience with field data collection for environmental features a plus.
  • Experience with environmental mapping products (E&S Plans, Article 7, Impact Studies) a plus.
  • Experience with Make automation software a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to run and/or modify Python scripts used in the processing of geospatial data preferred
  • Ability to communicate technical GIS information to non-technical personnel
  • Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills are required.
