FISH is Hiring a Kitchen supervisor Near Ellensburg, WA

Position Description :

The Kitchen Aid / Site Supervisor is primarily responsible for supporting FISH’s Picnic in the Park (PIP) Summer Meals Program by preparing food boxes and lunch bags for distribution and assisting the Food Service Supervisor (FSS) as directed.

In addition to food preparation and boxing of meals, the Kitchen Aid / Site Supervisor is responsible for distribution of meal boxes to children including transporting boxes to sites, meal service, box tracking and record keeping, and customer service.

Essential Functions :

  • Works as part of a team to prepare meals for children.
  • Maintains an organized and clean work environment.
  • Transports and distributes meals.
  • Maintains accurate reports and completes them in a timely manner.

Specific Responsibilities :

  • Attend sponsor training.
  • Agrees to follow and abide by FISH Employee Handbook.
  • Managed by the FSS assists in organization, preparation, packing, and storing of meals.
  • Safely and accurately prepares food.
  • Always maintains standards of food safety.
  • Distributes meals for all children at Picnic in the Park sites.
  • Accurately tracks and reports all meal boxes distributed at each site.
  • Properly stores leftover meals.
  • Represents FISH and PIP in a positive manner at all times while working.
  • Behaves professionally and appropriately while working.

Job Requirements :

  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Ability to operate as part of a team and follow direct instructions.
  • Strong organizational and data tracking skills.
  • Ability to track and prioritize workload.
  • Time management skills and reliable punctuality.
  • Willingness to drive own vehicle with FISH mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications :

  • Experience in food service, preparation or kitchen experience preferred.
  • Current Washington State Food Handler’s Permit (by start date).
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Clean driver’s license.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Physical Demands :

  • Physical demands include, but are not limited to :
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending and crouching.
  • Standing for extended periods.

Provide 11,743 meals county-wide to children during the summer break from school.Provide education on the benefits of good nutrition and healthy eating to children and adults.

Educate people about Basic Food (SNAP) benefits and register many of them for services
