We are currently recruiting for a Software Engineer to join the Agile Development teamat Worldpay. This position is based in Cincinnati, OH, and aligned to the Worldpay University Program; a two-year program, suited to entry-level joiners who aspire to develop a successful career with a leading payments company.

This two-year full-time program has a start date in June 2024 and as a university program participant you can look forward to the following:

About The Team 

We are on an exciting journey re-engineering our core payments platform to be more cost-effective, scalable, and cloud-ready utilizing the latest cutting-edge technologies. This journey will require the very best engineering talent to get us there as it’s not just a technical change, it’s a cultural change as well.

What You Will Be Doing 

• Writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies.

• Develop batch programs using Java 8, Apache Spark, and other technologies.

• Write web-applications, using Java, Spring, and database persistence.

• Follow industry best practice across all functions of the team including software development, TDD/BDD, DevOps & cloud.

• Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.

What You Bring 

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

• Fluent in English; Strong written and verbal communication skills 

• Adaptability, a drive to learn, and strong problem-solving skills 

• Ability to work well independently and within a team 

Bonus If You Have 

• Kafka

• Experience with building web-applications in the cloud (AWS)

• Knowledge of Fargate, EKS, EC2, EMR
