Job Summary
RN will facilitate and provide care to patients in our busy and fast paced, congestive heart failure division within a state-of-the-art cardiology clinic. Provide individualized education to patient and family members on heart failure condition and the management of the condition. Work with a multidisciplinary team. Initiate IVs and administer IV medication for diuresis. Obtain basic vital signs on patients (weight, BP, EKG, SpO2, ReDS, etc.) and draw blood for labs at request of provider. Triage patient phone calls. Monitor lab and test results then review with patient as instructed by provider. Manage prescription refills with patient/pharmacy/provider and obtain prior authorizations. Oversee patients' charts for appointment (make sure all records are in chart/referrals in chart/any test results in chart). Pre-load information into Epic. Review referrals and contact patients for appointment scheduling. Make sure patients are appropriately scheduled according to guidelines.
Job Qualifications
Minimum two years of nursing experience in cardiology preferred. Experience in physician practice setting preferred. ACLS and BLS certification required. BSN Degree and valid NC RN License or Compact State RN License required. Computer skills including Epic, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams are preferred. Strong organizational and people skills required. Successful applicant must have excellent communication and people skills and be a team player. Maintain strict confidentiality of medical, financial, and staff related information. Able to perform multiple tasks at once in an organized manner. Knowledge of heart failure medications and their effects on patients preferred.
