First United Methodist Child Care Center is Hiring a Preschool Teacher Near Champaign, IL

About us

FUMCCC is a licensed child care center caring for approximately 100 children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 5 years. Our team includes 25-30 teachers who are able to multitask, have the energy to keep up with the needs of young children, and possess outstanding communication skills. We strive to build supportive relationships with our staff based on a foundation of mutual respect.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with a Lead Teacher to facilitate play based learning experiences
  • Provide children with a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment
  • Provide open communication and build professional relationships with families.
  • Display a high level of professionalism and reliability
  • Participation in ongoing professional development
  • Maintain a classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Requirements

  • 1 year experience working in a DCFS licensed child care center preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and age appropriate practices.
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development, or 60 hours college coursework with at least 6 hours in Child Development and willingness to obtain appropriate Gateways Credential, or current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential and willingness to obtain appropriate Gateways Credential
  • 19 years of age or older
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
