First Technology Federal Credit Union is Hiring an Applications Systems Engineer II Near San Jose, CA
The Applications Systems Engineer II, coordinates and ensures the successful implementation and support of applications, with a focus on Pega, proactively identifying and troubleshooting performance issues and functionality gaps.
Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:
Job Duties
Implement, perform maintenance activities and support applications to optimize system performance and functionality
Handle and resolve user issues, troubleshoot applications in collaboration with support groups and assist in performing root cause analysis to identify solutions
Handle escalated user issues, as required
Administer testing and security controls based on infrastructure and application requirements, technical specifications and/or change control requests
Monitor and analyze IT metrics and use data to make process improvement recommendations, and implement as appropriate
Lead in and execute in the design, development, review and maintenance of clear and easily understood application and process documentation consistent with department standards
Provide day-to-day support for Pega applications, including troubleshooting and issue resolution
Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations as appropriate
Participate in on-call rotation to provide ad-hoc support outside of regular business hours to respond to and meet after-hours SLAs
Maintain knowledge of, and implement, the latest Pega developments and best practices in day to day job duties
Essential Skills
Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT administration; support of on-premise and/or cloud-based services and applications
Minimum 1 year experience with Pega platform
Experience in managing and troubleshooting financial services applications and batch services
Experience with web-based and/or middleware applications administration, management and support is preferred
Familiarity with ITIL and release management concepts is preferred
Ability to perform root cause analysis and network performance tuning
Ability to work autonomously to manage time effectively and prioritize work appropriately to meet deadlines
Ability to effectively collaborate with multiple business units, leadership and vendors to achieve organizational goals
Strong business communication skills; able to write/speak clearly and professionally for a variety of audiences
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to resolve complex issues with minimal direction
Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Proficiency with RDMS - MS SQL / Oracle is preferred
Familiarity with SCRUM as a development method for Agile is preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with successfully troubleshooting and tuning performance in Pega
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related fields is preferred, or equivalent work experience
Target Compensation in Rocklin, CA 95765: $108k - $128k annually annual bonus
Target Compensation in San Jose, CA 95134: $128k - $140k annually annual bonus
