Position Overview:
We are seeking a bilingual Construction Project Estimator with experience in the bidding process and a strong background in construction. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and extensive experience estimating projects within the industry.
Responsibilities:
Analyze project specifications and blueprints to accurately estimate project costs.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses.
Research and gather pricing information from suppliers, subcontractors, and other sources.
Utilize construction estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and ensure accuracy.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to review project requirements and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing for materials and services.
Monitor project budgets and provide ongoing support to project teams to ensure cost control and profitability.
Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to inform estimating processes and decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of the bidding process.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and specifications.
Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
Experience using construction estimating software.
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
