ABOUT FPD

First Presbyterian Day School (FPD) is a 3K-12th grade Christ centered, college preparatory independent school located in Macon, Georgia which exists to educate and equip children to change the world for God’s glory.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Help in the daily operations of the grounds of First Presbyterian Day School, to provide a safe, clean, beautiful, and operationally sound campus for students, faculty, and staff. You will be responsible for maintaining the grounds during all seasons.

Ultimately, this role is responsible for being part of a team that ensures the campus facilities are maintained in the excellent manner that appropriately represents the school’s mission to educate and equip children to change the world for God’s glory.

Responsibilities:

• Prune shrubs and trees as needed and clean up debris
• Pull weeds and needed and clean up debris
• Plant/replace seasonal flowers
• Replace/plant shrubs as needed
• Mowing grass and fields
• Trimming hedges
• Weed eating/edging walkways and fence lines
• Blowing
• Edging
• Preparing outdoor event set-up for events
• Other duties as assigned by grounds manager

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• 2 years of experience in grounds preferred.
• Need to be able to work 40 hours a week and sometimes after hours
• Need to be able to operate a variety of equipment and tools as well as lift 75 pounds.
• This is an outdoor position and the groundskeeper must enjoy working outdoors in a variety of temperatures.
• Good Team player and can work well with others
• Have a pleasant personal demeanor in working with vendors, school employees and other FPD relationships. Maintain a friendly, courteous, and eager-to-please attitude.
• Possess a high degree of attention to detail in maintaining grounds.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The majority of work will be performed in school campus classrooms, event spaces, gymnasiums and grounds. The person in this role is regularly required to bend, stoop, squat, and/or stand for long periods of time and may be required to lift up to 75lbs.
