Description
Position Purpose: The Building Services Manager works as part of the Building Operations Ministry team and has the primary focus of coordinating set up and take down for programs and events, for Sunday mornings as well as various events (internal and external). This position also assists with maintenance services including day to day projects, repairs and working with vendors. In addition, the Building Services Manager coordinates schedules and staffing needs for set-up and take-down for events and needs along with the Facilities Director. This position may work some nights and weekends including Sundays depending on the event and program schedule and the availability of the Events Ministry Team. Additionally, the Building Services Manager will serve as on-site manager for various events as assigned by the Facilities Director. Essential Duties:
  1. Prepare and initiate the schedule for set up and take down of events.
  2. Order supplies as needed for event support with the Facilities Director.
  3. Work with ROCK systems to ensure schedules are kept up to date and event related items are addressed promptly.
  4. Takes the lead on room set-up needs with the direction of the Facilities Director.
  5. Attend First Pres events as requested and serve as on-site manager as scheduled.
  6. Provide for all Sunday services support needs.
  7. Work with the Facilities Director to develop ongoing projects and building support action items.
  8. Complete maintenance needs and repairs.
  9. As directed by the Facilities Director, work with various vendors to complete various repairs.
  10. Ensure that storage spaces are kept organized.
  11. Plans, organizes, coordinates and manages custodial crews on all shifts in the performance of cleaning and preparation, set-up and take down within all church facilities in support of church programs and other groups through the use of Service U and ROCK and/or other official request systems.
  12. Develops work schedules, prioritize the duties and assignments of custodial personnel; adjusts work schedules as required; makes routine rounds to check for proper crew coverage in designated work areas.
  13. Supervises Building Services Tech's; in consultation with the Facilities Director coaches, issues discipling, recognition and appraisal of job performance; verifies and evaluates custodial crew performance by performing quality control checks of completed work assignments and work techniques
  14. Assists the Facilities Director by making recommendations to improve the productivity and efficiency of the custodial department.
  15. Assists the Facilities Director by making periodic checks for any health, safety, or fire hazards; follows all federal and state and church mandated safety programs and requirements.
  16. Attend event and planning meetings as needed.
Basic Duties:
  1. Efficiently carry out all administrative duties of the position, including prompt response to correspondence, voice mail and email, and appointment schedules.
  2. Stay current with job related technical training as required.
  3. Create and maintain records, documents, and spreadsheets as required.
  4. Work with volunteers as needed or assigned.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

  4. Engage in opportunities for ongoing spiritual growth including personal retreats and follow-up, worship, staff retreats, Bible study, spiritual mentoring, etc.
  5. Regularly attend appropriate staff meetings, staff chapel and appropriate meetings or events as assigned.
