First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Commercial Income Property Documentation Team Leader to join the Commercial Income Property Department. In this role, the Team Leader supervises the preparation of the Bank's middle market commercial real estate (CRE) loan documentation process (ie: loans up to $5MM) while ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and government regulations. The Commercial Income Property Documentation Team Leader also manages and trains the documentation team members on the middle market CRE loan process and applicable documentation requirements.

Key position accountabilities:

1. Executing, developing and maintaining procedures to service the Bank's middle market commercial real estate (CRE) loan portfolio
2. Serving as the centralized commercial real estate (CRE) documentation subject matter expert within BRED. The Team Leader works with branch lending personnel, centralized commercial loan documentation team members, legal, and credit administration to resolve problems and address complaints that arise during the commercial loan documentation process.
3. Supervising and scheduling the work of assigned resources in all loan documentation related activities. Also, training and providing technical guidance and takes personal charge of complex loan transactions. The role is also responsible for the employee evaluations, guidance and career development of staff under their supervision. 
4. Preparing documentation for commercial loans and overseeing the loan closing process (eg. signing, funding, booking) prior to the transitioning of the booked loan information to the Bank's centralized commercial loan documentation area.

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (hours may vary)

Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is $47,195 - $84,406/yr; commensurate with experience. 

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field; or equivalent work experience required
• Master's degree in finance, business administration, or related field; or equivalent work experience in banking (eg commercial loan documentation, experienced commercial lenders, attorneys familiar with commercial real estate) preferred
• 3-5 years of experience documenting commercial loans required
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience required
• Proficient working with MS Word and Excel
• Knowledge of typical commercial loan structures and methods for perfecting security interests in various types of collateral
• Experience preparing commercial loan documents using LaserPro documentation program
• Experience boarding loans using Paralender program
• Working knowledge of the AFS and ALS systems
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Possesses attention to detail with excellent follow-through

• Able to effectively analyze problems and demonstrate good judgement
