SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Analyst will collect and analyze data and input from multiple external and internal sources and organize into actionable reports (utilizing Power BI and Excel) and/or informational tools. These analyses will include evaluation of cash flows, budgets, organizational efficiency, and performance effectiveness as well as credit portfolio risk monitoring and management. It will be incumbent on the Senior Financial Analyst to thoroughly understand the goals and desired outcomes of activity in order to develop the most appropriate and effective tools for the evaluation.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs and articulates an enterprise reporting strategy and architecture in close coordination with the Director of Data Engineering.
  • Prepares and distributes periodically recurring reports and analyses accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Maintains and modifies periodically recurring reports and analyses to meet changing requirements arising from the evolution of supported business processes throughout the life cycle of the report.
  • Prepares ad hoc reporting requests and reporting projects for specific departments within the bank in order to assure an efficient and accurate reporting process.
  • Proactively researches, analyzes, develops and maintains tools to assist bank management in monitoring operational performance and goals.
  • Provides inputs and assistance in preparing FFB’s loan policy.
  • Maintains, validates, and provides analytical support for various external software systems used by the Bank.
  • Collaborates with and assists business units in identifying needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery as well as developing tools to help support strategic goals and process oversight.
  • Oversees the Bank’s environmental loan policies, processes and reports to ensure the reports meet the appropriate industry standards.
  • Serves as a liaison between business units, IT, and support teams for the banks reporting environment.
  • Performs other relevant duties as assigned by the Director of Analytics.


QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 5 years of banking or financial analysis experience required.
  • A thorough knowledge of complex financial analyses including ratio and trend analyses as well as forecasting and projections preferred.
  • Prior experience in a bank environment preferred.
  • Power BI certification preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree in related field (Finance, Statistics, Accounting, or Economics) or commensurate level of combined work experience and education in financial analysis and credit risk management or similar capacity.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS, ABILITIES, CHARACTERISTICS):

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group (executives, managers, and subject matter experts).
  • Ability to successfully engage in and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously and complete on schedule.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret the needs of business units and translate them into application and system requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to partner with others, identify/anticipate needs and proactively provide support.
  • Ability to discern between needs and wants of end users and evaluate overall gains of development vs development cost.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office 365 suite (e.g. Power BI Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of various reporting platforms from the user perspective (e.g. Power BI, Excel, SQL, Access, Cognos, Query400 and/or other data reporting and visualization tools).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal Office hours with the ability to work from home up to 2 days per week.
