The First Baptist Church of Clarendon Child Development Center has IMMEDIATE OPPORTUNITIES for a warm, kind, loving, patient EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE and LEARNING PROFESSIONALS~

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Meeting requirements for Teacher for Virginia (ECE degree or a degree in a related field, 15 credits in Early Childhood or a CDA.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a licensed childcare facility, preferably with infants and toddlers.
• Exhibiting warmth, emotional stability, and awareness of the emotional needs of children, parents, and coworkers, at all times.
• Promote a team atmosphere in the classroom.
• To support social and emotional development and provide positive guidance using Conscious Discipline techniques.
• Applying the philosophy of respect for, and trust in the infants and toddlers to be an initiator, an explorer, and a self-learner.
• Being the primary caregiver for an assigned small group of children, providing basic care, and forming a bond of intimacy and trust with these children and parents.
• Maintaining a positive and cohesive working relationship with co-workers.
• Work with children in groups or one on one, depending on the needs of children and the subject matter.
• Able to model positive conflict resolution and redirection for children.
• Planning, supervising, and implementing the program for the class in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the program.
• Documents observations and maintains an ongoing assessment of each individual child.
• Uses the results of the assessment to plan activities.
• To establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Maintain a clean and well-organized classroom.
• Keep records of the student's progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents informed about their child's development.
• To establish positive and productive relationships with families.
• To maintain a commitment to professionalism.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift between 5 and 50 pounds.
• On a daily basis, must be able to lift, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, sit on the floor, get up from the floor, carry, run, jump, stand for 6-8 hours at a time, go on hikes, go outside in all temperatures

Other Requirements:

• Proficient in speaking and writing in English.
• Must enjoy being around children
• Does not mind loud noises
• Enjoys singing, dancing and running
• Does not mind getting dirty with mud, paint, markers, dirt, sand or wood chips

Salary: $14.50 - $18.50 per hour
