An AdmissionsAssociate is a data entry position that oversees the in-patient, bed assignments, and completionof preliminary paperwork for entering patients. Works with medical, nursing andaccounting staff to ensure appropriate patient placement. Additionally,Admissions Associate confirms that all insurance benefits coverage meetsstandards of admission as dictated by policy. As part of a strongmulti-facility team, the ideal candidate will positively contribute to thephilosophy and goals of the organization i.e. mission, values and aperson-centered approach. Reports to our Admissions Liaison/OperationsLeadership.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm
- On-call weekend andholidays
- Opportunity to work hybrid after 90 days of employment
Job Duties:
- Data entry andcommunication with insurance companies.
- Work with Admissions Director to admit patients to facility, verify insurance eligibility, etc.
- Expedites flow ofadmissions through timely decision making and collaboration with all involvedparties as necessary.
- Obtain verification orauthorization of payment source(s)
- Document referrals andoutcomes of each potential referral
- Maintain Admission Log
- Understand the impactof reimbursement for various payer sources including, but not limited to,Medicare, MaineCare and Managed Care.
- Maintain daily censusand mix goals per facility budget.
- Produce requiredreports, summaries and recommendations.
- Communicate admissioninformation to facilities in a timely manner.
- Obtainspre-certification from insurance companies, as needed
- Promote excellentcustomer service skills and role-model consistently.
- Maintain excellentworking relationships with all internal and external colleagues
Skillsand Abilities
- Excellence in your work is apriority
- Excellent typing skills and beproficient E-mail, Calendars, and Microsoft Office Software.
- Understanding of functions and useof office equipment (including computer, fax, copier, printer, postage machine,and phone system, etc.)
- High level Customer Service skills.
- Flexible and a strong prioritizationskills.
- Able to deal tactfully with the team and the general public.
- Able and willing to workharmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Medical Terminology preferred
- Data Entry (1 Year)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a Maineresident
- High School Diploma orequivalent
- Must be able to writethe English language in a legible and understandable manner
