First Ascent Arlington Heights is seeking proactive, friendly, and psyched individuals to serve as Group Event/Party Staff. Are you an outgoing individual passionate about introducing people to the sport of climbing? Well, we've got the job for you!

First Ascent Arlington Heights is the North Western suburbs' premier rock climbing facility. We facilitate a large volume of specialized birthday parties, corporate outings, and group events.

We're currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to help us organize, run, and host these events. This position reports to the Program Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Checking group event guests in and ensuring they have waivers on file

• Taking group participants through an orientation and clearly explaining facility rules

• Ensuring that groups adhere to our Gym Policies.

• Belaying for group participants 

• Offering group participants unparalleled experiences through positive customer service interactions 

• Introducing participants to climbing, answering questions about the sport, and always leading from a place of patience and kindness.

• Hourly, part time position

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Possess proficiencies utilizing CRM and POS systems

• Although a top rope certification is not necessary for this position, it is preferred. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in the fitness or recreation industry 

• High school diploma/general education degree (GED) preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Predominantly in a climate controlled indoor environment

• Noise level ranges from moderate to loud 

• Employee must be able to concentrate through distraction and communicate effectively
