Firelands Scientific/The Landing Dispensary is Hiring a Part Time Utility Technician Near Huron, OH

Summary:

The Utility Technician is responsible for supporting multiple operations within the facility including cultivation, extraction, packaging, inventory, warehousing, culinary, facilities, etc. The Utility Technician is expected to work at an efficient pace, taking care to abide by always established quality standards. The Utility Technician will maintain a safe and clean work environment by following current good handling practices, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and complying with rules and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform in accordance with or above KPI goals within multiple functions within the facility including but not limited to cultivation, irrigation, post-harvest, packaging, inventory, warehousing, facilities, order fulfillment, etc.
  • Harvesting, trimming, and packaging in the appropriate production area, ensuring plants and products are handled properly and that each retains its identifying METRC tag and consistent with KPI’s and specs.
  • Support finished goods production consistent with KPI’s and specs.
  • Run equipment in and operate mechanical systems consistent with KPI’s and specs.
  • Ensure accuracy and traceability of data by carefully collecting all plant material into its designated container with the associated METRC plant tag, after each plant is trimmed
  • Perform weighing of plants or plant material during trimming, harvesting, or packaging, as requested by the Manager(s)
  • Perform packaging and labeling of product, ensuring accuracy of inventory by properly calibrating scales, weighing each package to the predetermined weight, and accurately counting packages upon preparation for distribution
  • Perform quality assurance measures, including inspecting material during trim or packaging, maintaining a sterile environment and work area, and safeguarding against broken or defective packaging or storage containers
  • Ensure neat and accurate labeling, checking that batch numbers, strains and other required information is correct and legible on the label
  • Immediately report any issues or deviations from quality standards to the appropriate departmental manager
  • Wear required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to prevent contamination and always abide by personal hygiene standards
  • Work in a timely manner, moving at an efficient pace, and always strive to increase productivity
  • Responsible for the cleaning of the work area and following of the appropriate departmental cleaning procedures
  • Follow all MMCP safety, legal, quality, process control policies and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Relevant Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma
  • 1-3 years of experience in a regulated production environment preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to work efficiently with a positive attitude and team first focus
  • Basic plant knowledge and cannabis operations preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately
  • Must comply with state regulations and guidelines
  • Ability to pass a background check required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Physical Requirements:

  • Long periods of prolonged standing and sitting
  • Ability to observe and assess material that deviates from established company standards
  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to perform manual labor tasks
  • Must be capable of performing repetitive tasks for an extended period of time
  • Some crouching or holding uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time
  • Requires bending and lifting up to 50 pounds

Work Environment:

  • Similar to a busy manufacturing facility or warehouse
