Fire Rated LLC is currently seeking a fire protection designer for our Terryville, CT location. Fire Rated LLC specializes in the design and installation of fire sprinkler systems for all types of public and private construction projects. We have an opening for a Designer in Fire Protection Engineering and Sprinkler System Design. The individual will produce construction documents for a variety of building types including retail, medical, educational, and governmental. In addition to the responsibilities for developing high quality fire protection drawings and specifications, the position involves continuous client service and client contact, including on-site meetings and data collection, with occasional travel required.

Responsibilities

• Determine design criteria for various design/build and plan/spec projects.
• Design and hydraulically calculate complete sprinkler and standpipe systems
• Coordinate design with other building trades.
• Produce Fabrication, Field drawings, & As Builts
• Coordination with project manager and internal teams.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of NFPA and AHJ t fire safety standards and FM Global datasheets.
• Proficient in Bluebeam Microsoft Office software
• Capable of performing hydraulic calculations
• 3D BIM Capable
• Must work well with others
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of fire sprinkler design experience
• NICET Certification or PE is highly desired

Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
